Exam practice material, and nothing more than that
Superheat exists because the material a technician can buy for this exam mostly will not tell you where its answers come from, and the exam is one nobody sits by choice.
Superheat is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It does not certify anyone. It is exam practice material.
What that statement rules out
It is not boilerplate and it is not a disclaimer bolted on at the end. It describes how the product is built. There is no EPA seal anywhere in the app, on this site, in the app-store listing or on a completion record, and no government insignia of any kind. Superheat never describes itself as sanctioned, endorsed, approved or authorised by any government agency, and never claims that anybody certified it or anything in it.
The only permitted description is a nominative one: practice tests for the EPA Section 608 certification exam. That names the exam the material prepares you for and claims nothing about who made the material.
Certification is issued only by a certifying program approved under 40 CFR § 82.161, and only after that program administers its own test. Superheat is not such a program, is not applying to become one, and cannot certify anyone.
Claims this product never makes
- That it, or anything in it, carries any form of government approval or endorsement.
- That it certifies anyone, or that anyone certified it.
- That it is the authoritative or sanctioned version of anything.
- That using it will result in passing an examination.
- Any government seal, emblem or insignia, anywhere.
Enforced in the build against a list of exact phrases, which is why this panel describes them instead of printing them. One otherwise-good question is held out of the public sample set because a wrong-answer option contains one of those phrases, and a screenshot of a single multiple-choice option does not carry the context that makes it a statement about somebody else.
The decisions that shaped it
Cite everything
Every question carries the paragraph it was written from. If we get one wrong, you have what you need to prove it, and we would rather be corrected than believed.
Charge once
The certification has no renewal cycle in the regulation. Billing monthly for preparation would be charging for time passing.
Collect nothing
No account, no email address, no advertising identifier, no cross-app tracking. Your answer history stays on your phone because there is no server table that could hold it.
Work with no signal
This gets used in plant rooms, basements and truck cabs. A feature that needs the network to function is a feature that is wrong.
Never gate the diagnostic
The paywall never appears before you have seen your readiness figure. Not as a promotion — as a rule with a test on it.
Print no number we cannot source
No pass rates, no user counts, no testimonials, no five-star badges. When there is a figure worth quoting it will arrive with its method.
Who builds it
